I have committed two hours each evening from 8PM-10PM CST to advancing my work and reclaiming my peace.
I will sit in an open Zoom room for two hours during the month of July.
Without an anchor, Zoom, my mind and body would find every reason in the world to do something else other than sit still, focused in the moment on what is most important in my life. I have created this sadhana - intentional practice - to take back my power - a response to circumstances beyond my control.
I choose me.
I choose this space over allowing external others to control my thoughts, my feelings and my life. I believe that there is power in sitting in community as we return focus on ourselves and our lives and our priorities.
My idea is to create a space where people like me reclaim their time. Years ago I participated in a workshop with Gahmya Drummond workshop where we gathered specifically for the purpose of writing for two hours each night. For one month. We greeted each other in the beginning of the session and then we were just silent, most with cameras off, working.
My idea is inspired by WeWork, MindValley, Open, Calm, DailyOM and an experience of looking for more time in each day to do what is important to me. In reality, you provide the desk, coffee, snacks and whatever else you need to get your thing done - within a supportive intentional community. I will sit and work, no matter what, even if I am the only person who shows up.
There will be no agenda. No Q &A. No consulting, brainstorming on your problems, projects or organizational challenges. I will not be entertaining anyone.
It costs $1 each day. No credits. No refunds. No friends and family discount. This modest amount of money represents a commitment and reciprocal relationship in which both parties give something and exchange energy.
Travelers pay as you go. The toll and cost of entry is $1. If that seems unreasonable, this isn’t for you. And that’s okay.
Take back responsibility for your life, joy, and enlightenment. I hope to sit with you soon.
